This nickel-plated steel coin was issued to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Colombo Medical Faculty (1870–2020), one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in South Asia. The reverse features the faculty's emblem incorporating the Rod of Asclepius and anchor motif, symbolizing medicine, healing, and service.
